Nobody tells first time visitors about the Masani railway crossing, and then they sit at it, confused, watching a barrier that will not lift.
It is a level crossing on the direct Bhuteshwar Road route, and when a train is due, it closes for several minutes. On a busy morning the traffic backs up well before it. This single crossing is the most common reason a 12 km drive takes 45 minutes instead of 25.
